The frequency bands used for satellite communication, commonly designated as L, S, C, X, Ku, and Ka-band, are chosen based on a key trade-off: lower frequencies (like C-band) offer high reliability and resistance to rain fade, while higher frequencies (like Ka-band) provide greater bandwidth for high-speed data but are more susceptible to weather interference.
