Since 1974, Armstrong Industrial Corporation has been pioneers in precision engineering. They are Asia’s trusted leader in Noise, Vibration & Heat Management Solutions.
At Armstrong, we are always looking at how we can be the most innovative solution provider for our customers and stakeholders. When COVID struck, we realised that many of our work processes were manual or paper based and proved to be ineffective during this period. It got us thinking deeper on a digital transformation where we look into how we can re-design and automate our processes, how we can institutionalise operations, product and service excellence, and how we can utilise data to make critical business decisions.
At Telstra Purple, we are the professional and managed services consulting arm of Telstra. We deliver end-to-end digital transformation for our clients. This is achieved through our Telstra 4D consulting approach – Discover, Define, Deliver, Drive. Through our methodology, we discover the challenges Armstrong are facing and understand their people, process, and technology. In the define phase we use the learning and insights from discovery and create a blueprint to solve our customer’s business challenges. To date we build a data platform in Azure that consolidates all ERP data for analytics. This allows for automation and a consolidated view of data on a single cloud platform. As Armstrong’s digital transformation partner, we are bringing people, process and technology together to drive long and lasting changes.
Telstra jumpstarted our journey into building a modern data stack which supports the consolidation of ERP data from 17 locations across 7 countries. We can now better track various metrics at a consolidated group level. We also rebuild their material library as a cloud-native web application with multi-language support, data analytics and state-of-art ElasticSearch.
Our new Material Library offers Armstrong an intuitive user experience. This modern application allows us to easier search and do comparisons studies on our materials. We migrated Armstrong users and their regional affiliates to a single Microsoft 365 tenant. Using the Microsoft 365 suite, the service infrastructure and user experience have been standardised across all countries. We provide training to all users so that Armstrong can get the most out of Microsoft 365. Leveraging our Telstra Adaptive network, we have build a SASE architecture for Armstrong that combines network security with WAN capabilities.
We have successfully connected their China office with the rest of the teams. Telstra Purple has been able to garner the right professional experience and expertise within their team to help us with our problem statements. We were also able to breed deeper engagement as Telstra Purple could provide an end-to-end solution from network infrastructure to front-end applications. Personally, I love the collaborative and transparent relationship we have with the Armstrong team. We really feel like one team working together to drive successful outcomes.
